Bay Islands Beach Resort hosts as many as 20 wheelchair divers a year and at least 40 more guests who have physical limitations. We built our resort with everyone in mind. The beachfront and beach guest rooms are permanently ramped. The resort meets and exceeds ADA standards, but we are most proud of the modifications made at the suggestions of our guests. As one guest said, "This place is easier for me than my house!" Our dive staff has been trained to work with physically challenged divers.. RESORT: quiet, secluded, located on the western side of the island (less wind). Nice beach, but watch out for sand fleas. They weren't too bad while we were there, but be prepared. Take repellent or buy it there, cactus juice is best for you and for the environment. Hammocks on the beach, palm trees, landscaping is pretty.
On premises: gift shop, dive shop, dining/bar area (open air/not enclosed), guest rooms.
